Getting it pretty soon but copyied so i can't go online

Just to tell you, you have to go online inorder to validate the CD-key, and it wont let you use the same CD key on more than 1 steam account, tried it with my freinds copy... didnt work. so you CANNOT play the game at all without validating the CD key online, thus you HAVE TO HAVE steam inorder to play. so your outta luck dude. your copied game wont work.

 there ís a way to play a copied version of half life 2, i have no idea how though and i don't care much either.

what i do know, but not sure if it réally works is this:
-i have half life 2 installed on my PC.
-i go to a friends house and download & install Steam.
-i log in on my account and play half-life 2
-he, from now on, uses the Steam Offline mode and can play half-life 2 whenever he wants( 'cause steam probably wont allow 2 players to use the same account at the same time)

i think this works, at least the first 3 things worked.
so all you need then is a friend with half-life 2.

 thats all fine nad dandy, ecpect when you consider that not everyone has internet at there home, and not everyone has steam just to play half-life 2. anyway using a copied version of the game is considered piracy.

 Someone i know at uni got screwed over by the Internet Registration thingy. My uni aggressivly blocks nearly everything, except HTTP and a few other ports. So when he came home and tried to install it and play it, the uni blocked his attempts to register it, hence rendering it useless.

 I think they are referring to the LAMBDA symbol, and they are using the greek meaning of the word, not the spanish.
