 The IP Dynamic Lite Portal.
I have many questions about this and i would like it if the IF team would care to explane all the things that will be in the Portal.

I have heard that the portal will be added to all the boards, this is great but do you HAVE to have the portal?? (not that i don't want to have it)

Also will there be an admin CP on the portal so you dont have to do everything like in GU2?

I would also like that there would be a topic where the IF team tells us what features the portal will have.

 Speaking from using Dynamic Lite on full IPB...
Yes, your portal can be switched on OR off, via your Admin CP. You may also control which blocks (Items of data, such as a poll block etc) to display and where to display them, again, via your Admin CP. (Not sure whether or not IF will have this ability).

You won't have to do install/upload anything. All portals will be installed on yuor boards automatically. You won't need to lift a finger. :)

 So i could not go to IF Skin Zone and let them put my current skin code into a portal skin code.

Well if there's no portal skinning then it will be ok but it would be cooler if there would be portal skinning.

 I've decided to go ahead and write the Admin CP for v2.0 Final of my Portal, so it will come with it. :) I've arranged for v2.0 Final of the GU Portal to be fixed for Invisionfree, and installed on all the boards (if Duffman still uses the idea), so you guys won't have to do any uploading/installing there, either. The Admin CP on the GU Portal (like IPDLite) will be seperate from the Admin CP on your board. The only option that will come in your board's ACP will probably be the option to turn it on/off. Which, I also believe that Duffman will make one link for you to choose which Portal you want to use. :) I'm shooting for v2.0 Final to be released before Duffman puts IPDLite on IF, but this may not be possible with school, my plans to release RC 2, and checking things, before Final, etc...But, whichever comes first, the GU Portal will be there, some time or another. I'll have more time to work on it, tomorrow and Sunday, so I'm not complaining too much. :)

 I use IPDLite on my IPB. I think I'll stick with it.

BTW - IPDLite doesn't have a seperate ACP. It's in System Settings.

 well although IV is the base for If forums and we use similar features duffman may incorporate a seperate admin cp for IF though it may be easier to just add the feautures to the origonal admin cp. it depends on how he feels.

 :unsure: :blink: Yeah but the better thing With IP Dynamic Lite is that it is more simple.

GU2 is more complex.

And Lite is hosted and you don't have to upload anything.
