 you musta zoomed through the game if your only level 17. took me almost 9 hours to get that high and i was still on nar shadaa. also, now that your above level 15, you can get your prestiege class for Kierea.

to get to that level, i rented k0t0r 2 from blockbuster for 6 nights, and bought it afterwards

I fought as many people as i could handle(which was all except for one - sion on korriban)

and i made sure i upgraded manually

 I rented it at blockbuster, managed to beat the game while renting it, i was over level 20, cant remember exactly, i was a jedi weapon master, had leaqrnt all the feats for lightsaber, so i was doing pretty good, unfortunately i dont have my exact stats. I just know my saber had the best stuff, had the best equiopable armor that allowed use of force powers, needless to say my guy could kick butt all by himself.

 yeah, though i oplan on buying the game soon, i wanna play though it at least 4 times, male and female light side, and male and female darkside, also i might experiment with different class combinations.

 consular relies too much on there many force powers, sure they can do close combat but the low HP and lesser strength = get yer head handed to yah agaisnt groups.
