What do you guys and girls think is the best way to host images that may be contained on your skin? Uploading them onto your board and using the IMG URL or using an imagehost site this doesn't include the buttons and markers. Only those urls that are found in the manage style sheets, aka, CSS. |

I'd advise you to upload them in a hidden section (admins only) on your forum, then whenever your forum is online, so are the images :). |

ya, I got them as attachments in a admin-only forum but I'm still deciding which way is best. |

Depends I think, because you only have 16MB of disk space on your board, if you upload them there, it takes away space that can be used for file uploads. Imagehosts are therefore probably better, but imagehosts aren't 100% reliable and sometimes limit bandwith, where uploading them to your board doesn't. Really they're both the same, they both have advantages and disadvatages IMO, so it's really a matter of choice I think :/ BTW: w00t!! 1000 posts!! :w00t:

ya, it probably also depends on the size of the files. The 6 gifs that are in my skin all add up to less than 20 kb's lol so it has a very small impact on my upload space. I have 50 extra emoticons and still have only used 2% of the space. My main question was anwered tho. The reliability one. Thanks! I might just use the ones on my board now. |

If your looking for reliability and you like your images to say unbroken then i would advise that you upload them onto the space that invisionfree provide. The amount of forums i have seen with broken images hosted at these "free hosted sites" are becoming more commonplace. Def host your images with invisionfree. |
