Unflag all normal forums so validating members can't see the normal forum. Make one forum that only validating users can see and include a closed thread that has a link to the resend validation email. I got tired of checking the admin cp everyday to see if someone needs to be validated and this way you can block yourself against people using fake email addresses. |

no, its a realy stupid way for people to validate themselves, you could just set validation to e-mail validation in the acp O.o |

The only way people can become in the validation group in the first place is if you set e-mail or admin vaildation ![]() I think it makes sense to do something like that, I did ages ago but doesn't gauruntee people will validate their accounts. An easier way of solving this if you're tired of validating people is to turn it off altogether

Doesn't really matter, because crackers can just make a gazzilion new e-mails instantly with hotmail ,yahoo, gmail, etc and join e-mail validation really just stops false e-mails, not crackers :/

I don't understand the point of this. Isn't the whole part about the forum with the "resend" link useless? If you enable email validation and block the validating group from viewing the forums, doesn't that have the same result? By the way, I'm now in OcelotJay's sig!!!!1 :w00t: |

Yeah, I don't see the point in this. Is there really even a value in email validation? Are we checking to make sure people really have email addresses? |

You're making them validate their account before they can post on the board, so stops (or rather, controls) spammers. |

This does require e-mail validation >_< You're basically making the validation link available publicly, I've found it sometimes works although most people don't lose their validation link and if they do they know how to get it but you always get the odd numpty
