I can't believe this. He was so great. Did anyone watch the Tonight Show back when he was the host?

I've seen a few episodes of the tonights show when he hosted, but they were taped.

Very sad news...So many greats dying so close together...

Shocking. Didn't know he was sick.

I saw an old episode of Cheers this past week when Norm and Cliff went to LA to watch the tonight show.

Smoking.. >_<

But anyway, yeah, I saw lots of his shows while he was on, though I preferred David Letterman.
Also saw a lot more of his stuff on "The Best of the Tonight Show" or whatever it was called, which they'll probably be re-running again now.
If you can find that show on anywhere, you should check it out, as they took most of the good bits and compiled them on it.

He was one of the few people smart enough to retire while still on top.

When I heard this yesterday I was so shocked.I had no idea he was sick.He was THE king of late night.I remember watching his farewell show and thought it was so sad that he was going off the air.He will be missed by those who knew him and remember him for his great contribution to television. :(
