TechiWarehouse has a bunch of tutorials on a lot of programming languages, including C++ and Java. In fact I recently went through the C++ tutorials since I started learning C++. You can't go wrong with C++ For Dummies though . . . it costs money, but the Dummies series always helps me

i can hook you up with a few basic java tuts....however, i suggest taking a class or buying a book. Get yourself BlueJ for java. Just remember, you need to learn alot of java to get to making a game. This is one of the downfalls of java, it takes many lines of code to do a simple thing |

CProgramming.com also helped me with C/C++ and I tried learning Java at Java Boutique. I'm currently trying a text-based game out in C++ (because I find that the best way for me to learn a programming language is to start doing something and figure out everything as I go along). My advice is to work through a lot of different tutorials, since they each present the language structures in a different way. |
