This going to be tough.

If they need help, can we like join their forum and then they promote us to Admin and we fix the problem for them, can we do that?

I know it's confusing, but just bear with me.

NO :o

Very wrong move. If this was allowed, the support forums (and support ticket forum) would be flooded with topics like "OMG LOL S oMeOnE h4xx0rz mah 4um!!!!111!!rofl"

infact that would probably get you grey faster than giving incorrect support.

thats well harsh

normally, if a board admin or mod slackens a bit with members andtlkes to en regulary, then the members normally follow the request of the admin or mod

but i dont mind if your being strict......after all.....its your desicion

good luck with it seth(and thats me being nice to you)

just inquiring...

say for instance there was a new request. member 1 was to go on first and consider this for a few minutes and then slowly without rushing answered the question.

If he was first to reply and then 3 more mbers posted right after in a rush who would be in trouble?

If he was second to reply although when he went onto the topic it showed no other members viewing the topic. Who would be in trouble?

on to the admin thingy
I have (not recently though) often had ACP access for members to try and resolve an issue which I have done on every time on entry. Each time I did this I made sure the member posted that he was making me an admin on his board. This is for a precaution. Afterward they either demoted the account or I did.
Is this still allowed ( was it ever?) or should the problem be left to an official suppport member or what?

Edit: also Seth, why was zero tolerance memntoned? His name isnt in grey and he only gave support on his codes so he must know what he's talking about right?

Edit 2: Also.. (again!) would it be possible to correct us if we are wrong rather than just make us grey straight away. If we are not then we could be giving out the wrong answer all the time. Will there be some sort of warning of what we have done wrong for future refernace?

Thanks
Matt

the zero tolerance thing. he's just saying he's really fed up with what's happening on the support forum(s).

(this right?). or is everything I say seem incorrect to you?

Hahahahah yeah, I was saying "No tolerance" :P

The best answer gets a cookie, the others get burned :) actually, this is more just to make people slow down, take their time, and write GOOD answers.

In the 1st instance nothing would happen. In the 2nd, if it was quick and not well written, you might be warned. You should NEVER ask for ANY member to give you admin access on the board. This opens up a can of worms on both sides. You could be accused of messing up the board by doing something accidentaly or having an easily cracked account. Only IF staff should ask and normally ONLY through tickets. Its the safest way.
Zero Tolerance is a term used to say you have 1 strike and you are out. no more being nice. You break the rules, you are gone. Its not a member. The first time you make a mistake you will get a warning. After that you are in trouble.

That woulod make sense. (I'm tired you see!)

At leat i didnt have to add edit 3

Point (Lost count)?
If we create a code or edit for a specific user and the code id posted incorrectly, will this be considered giving a wrong answer and resulting in a suspension?

EDIT: I understand the zero tolerance thing now thanks. It kina clicked after I posted :$

Mathiaus, it's not some sort of game with "ah, this has 3.2 misspellings on average and is therefore wrong!" If you're putting forth a helpful effort... and believe me, we can tell, we've done this forever... you're fine. Don't be scared off if you know you're doing a good job.

But what if you posted the wrong thing a few times....and it seemed like you are going to turn to gray....if we are about to turn to gray, like if you do that again stuff, can you atleast get a PM notifiacation?

If we encounter someone who happens to be ignoring these Guidelines, to whom can we forward to evidence?
