Any Laptop users?; I have a little problem

 I use a laptop, but when I take it off the power to use it somewhere else, the screen light goes to half power. I guess it helps with making the battery last longer. I have a 2 year old and when he wants to go outside to play, I like taking my laptop with me, but I cant see a thing.
Does anyone know if I can turn this feature off and make it so the light is at full power all the time??

 it might be power options in control panel.

Laptops are set up like that to use less battery when it's not connected to the wall. Using half power makes the laptop last longer on battery but you can turn that function off. I believe it's in power options.
