Me and my cousin are big Devils fans (He's the bigger fan) and it's weird not seeing hockey on. I knew they weren't going to play just 30 games. And then base that off to the playoffs.

It's always money, and when it's money it's always more money. I wouldn't go as to far as canceling all sports seasons, I love to watch sports, auto-racing, baseball, football, hockey, ect.

But hockey is right up there with bowling or golf for the most boring game to watch award, anyway, so.. meh.
If only all sports would cancel their seasons..

Baseball too don't forget. That's the driest sport I've ever seen.

The only good part is going to games and doing the wave. We must have gone 20 times around after the announcer stopped encouraging us. Oh and who can't love that free junk they shoot at you. But the game.. :X

I think baseball comes just after billiards.
At least in baseball, fans occasionally get in a wrestling match or fall over a balcony while trying to catch a homerun or foul ball. ;)
Though I'd still rather watch rust forming. :r

What I don't get is why wouldn't the NHL accept the $49 million salary cap? There is what, about 15 players on an NHL roster?

In the NFL, a team has about $50+ million dollars for a salary cap....BUT, they have about 50+ players to pay, and they aren't complaining about it.

Yes, there is 32 players on a hockey team.

And FFS thats why u watch junior hockey (they wanna play)

I disagree when people say sports men and women shouldn't be paid millions a year.

No one argues when Actors or actresses are paid a lot, So why shouldn't athletes? They entertain people, Just like all Actors and Musicians, Only difference is the fact that Athletes risk their health.

i love NHL its so cool. dont get much of the action though over in england

1 good point about NHL being locked out is 1 my local team who are made up of british players have signed a NHL player for this season who has 301 NHL games for Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche and New York Rangers.
yes you might of quessed you might not but its Chris McAllister.

Most ever penalty minutes for fighting (approx 654) he is so solid in our defence and gopod thing is a local leisure complex is paying his wages

and i would just like to quote something he said last week at a meeting

"i love this club i love where i live on the sea front and IF the nhl is locked out next season i will be staying here right in newcastle"

Well thing is our Ice hockey club have been in financial diffifculty shall i say over the past few weeks and the erx owner had to sell the club last week to 3 people (2 of whom already play for my local team) and 1 person nwho played with chris as a youngster Paul Ferone.

since we have been bought out by 3 investors we are going to have alot more money next season and are moving up to a lot better/skilled league.

Without the NHL lockout next season we will fail

Currently there are abpout 20 NHL players playing in england for alot less money. hope it stays locked oiut next season and we keep Chris. what an amzing bit of talent they have.

they deserver all the wages they ask for

Nhl LOCKED OUT AGAIN HOPEFULLY 05/06 SEASON

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I do. ;)
Musicians as well.
Especially the ones who aren't even real musicians or singers.
Teachers make $30,000 a year or so while some tone-deaf tool who can barely speak English, much less sing, gets millions a year when he should be pumping my gas.
Not to pick on rappers or pop stars, that was just an amusing ramble.. :P
This sort of thing is a perfect example of why the US, and western civilization in general, are completely mulleted.

However, you don't find actors and musicians being whiny little mulletes and shutting down (or even threatening to shut down) all movie productions and concerts for an entire season. :r
