Quantum-locked when observed.

Why would it be impossible for two particles to coexist in the same place? (Define what you mean by 'place' too)

I would argue that looking around and seeing yourself would only be the appearance of particles existing in two places. ^_^

Silly human perceptions complicate reality.

Yes I do!

But as far as little green men and life forms smart as us or smarter no way!

I think God would have told us if there was other life forms like that. Im just unsure on the fact.

But I do think there could be life forms such as living cells. But I do not think anything smart like even a dog.

Our form of space travel is pathetic. We need space ships like starttrec that can move at the speed of light.

Otherwise we wont go very far to ever know....

I believe there is life on other planets (like maybe plants, and other small things) but I do not really believe there are "aliens".

Just my opinion.

though endless planets may or may not be true. we dont' know if the unvierse is 'closed' or 'open'.

Closed - sounds just like it, it is finite and do NOT last forever and ever,.

open - opposite of closed, this kind if infinite, it could have a infinte number planets, stars, suns, black holes, and other things.

well if it is finit... that leads u wondering... how would somthing so vast end? a wall? leaves u wondering, what is nothing? and i mean, honestly think about this, what is nothing?

if you remember there was a couple star trek episodes, and one of the movies that had a theory that there was some kinda barrier that kept us from going outside the universe, galaxy, whatever you wanna call it.

This is another case of our perceptions getting in the way.
Obviously we don't have a very good understanding of reality, because it doesn't make sense either way.
The universe, by definition, encompasses everything, therefore it must be infinite.
Why?
Because if it weren't infinite, it would be finite, which would mean it would have boundaries, which would mean something is on the other side of those boundaries or there wouldn't be a boundary, which is impossible, because since the universe ecompasses everything, whatever would be on the other side of the boundary would be part of the universe as well, which means there is no boundary.

So, some part of the universe is likely expanding, as we perceive, but the expansion is merely taking place within the universe, rather than the universe itself expanding, since it can't expand.

If the universe was expanding though, would you take the argument that if we could somehow freeze the expansion, or take a snapshot of it, we'd find a finite boundary? I know i've just proposed a largely philosophical argument here....

Two good arguements, both of which I would oddly agree with. The universe is expanding which would argue that it must be finite as it's growing but as PhranK said, it encompasses everything so it must be infinite.

Is it perhaps possible that it is expanding but infinite? That perhaps there are no boundaries and rather it is expanding within itself rather than expanding within a space?

A strange concept perhaps but it's more than likely that this is well beyond our understanding or at least right now. I mean we know little of our own galaxy so to understand the universe is a big step. Although, something so large could easily manipulate the very boundaries and concepts of reality we live in, I mean if the universe forged time and space then it can break them too. It's possible we're simply a small fraction of another space, if one universe was created by an explosion it's surely possible for more to exist, in which case the universe would be finite within an infinite space or finite within a finite space expanding also in a finite space. Who knows, the universe is a creation I doubt we'll ever fully understand as there are limitless possibilites behind its function.

It's rather like the Oddworld in a way. ^_^ Do the turtles upon which the planet stands have a bottom or do they just go on forever?

Personally, I think if we're going to say the universe is expanding, we need to redefine "universe".

Let's rename the expanding part "poop", shall we?

The universe remains everything, however, within that universe, there is at least one poop, which encompasses everything we can perceive so far, and we can observe that it appears to be expanding.
If it's expanding, it must have boundaries, but we have no idea where those boundaries are at the moment, nor what, if anything, is on the other side of those boundaries, other than the surrounding infinite universe.
Might be emptynes... might be more poops spread out like galactic clusters, might be Jello(tm), but it's all within the one universe.

Anyway..
Somebody was talking about aliens, I think.
I think the pre-tv historical accounts of UFO's are evidence that either aliens not only exist, but have visited us repeatedly throughout history, or that at some point in the future, humanity learns to not only build such craft, but to travel back in time as well.
Both are equally improbable, in my opinion, but I've yet to think of any alternatives.
