My old apartment was haunted.
Apparently the whole apartment complex was, or at least various parts of it.

Nothing scary ever happened, but some rather freaky things did, and we finally mentioned something about it half-jokingly when we were in the office paying the rent one day, and the manager sat there for a few seconds, probably trying to figure out if we'd move out or something if she told us, but decided to talk about it.

From what she's been able to gather, the place was built in an area where some incidents occured between settlers and Native Americans around there, and she thinks at least one happened right there.
She claimed to have seen visions or apparitions, but we never saw any, though we did think we saw shadows where there shouldn't have been any, and movement out of the corner of our eyes, and this was before we ever talked to her about it.

And the master bedroom had a vaulted ceiling, in one particular corner of which the shadows often seemed considerably darker than they should be, and I always got that feeling of being watched.
Not by the CIA or FBI.. that's a different feeling. :P

Plus, and this is one of the more freaky things, occasionally things would disappear and then later reappear in strange places.
Which you're probably thinking is no big thing and happens all the time, with people finding their car keys in the fridge or something because they forgot they picked them up and had to set them down to grab the milk or whatever, but it wasn't like that.

For example, one time my girlfriend's glasses just disappeared off the shelf by the tv in the spare bedroom, which was luckily far more haunted than the master bedroom, and nobody had even been in there for a couple days and we'd had no visitors, and we couldn't find the damned things for several weeks or more, and then one day when we were cleaning and moving stuff around, we found them, under the bed.
Now, this was no bed with a nice frame, sitting a foot off the ground, so you could store stuff under it.
This was a queen-sized mattress, sitting on a box-spring mattress, maybe 100 pounds total weight, and resting directly on the floor.
And the glasses were almost perfectly in the center.
Under them both.

Stuff like that..

So, yeah, I tend to believe in them.

Ive never seen a ghost or spirit as such. But i do believe in them. I wouldnt say i go round alday thinkin bout it, and keep tellin myself i do, but i do keep my options open.

But i do believe there is an afterlife, and these are just spirits stuck between where their meant to be going.

I'm pretty much the opposite.
I can't truthfully say that I believe in much of anything, which is why I said "I tend to believe in them", which perhaps wasn't as clear as it could have been, now that I read it again, but it was late at night, so.. meh.

I argue/debate with some friends of mine frequently about it, but basically, I find it impossible to "believe", by definition, when our senses are so fallible, and they're all we really have to rely on.
It can't be proven to my satisfaction, that you or even I exist, so there's certainly no way I can "believe" in something like this.

But anyway, I just wanted to clarify that I don't rule out the possibility that my paranormal experiences were due to psychokinesis, interdimensional travel, mind-control drugs the government put in the water supply, or anything else.

I just try to go by what seems the most likely answer, in general.

I just think its our minds playing with us. and since someone thinks they saw something but dont have anything to prove it with they start making fake photo's of orbs

Care to explain how my flatmate got hurt then? :r

She was actually pretty badly hurt. :/ The most haunted area is the lounge and it was precisely midnight when something was hurled at her. Sure as hell wasn't me. All I heard was a scream and found her crouching on the floor with a vase smashed at her feet. Poor thing had to get stitches, scars aren't that bad though unless you stand right in her face. o_O

Now unless the law of physics decided to pop off for a sandwhich, I'd say something would have to use some force to pick up a vase and hurl it veritcally halfway across a room.

But I have to say I do agree to an extent with the orb things. They don't make much sense to me (not that much does) Apparitions yes but orbs? They're the only form of ghost I've never fully understood the reasoning behind. And the fact that such orbs can easily be smudges does make me wonder most of the time, even if they're claimed to be found not to be smudges. :/

Eek. :ermm: I would move so fast. As much I'd be interested in it, that would be so scary. I'd probably curl up into a ball.

Meryl wanted to but bleh I'll be damned if I'm driven out by a ghost. He's calmed down now, wonder if perhaps he's gone for good. Apparantly he has 'quiet spells' and then poof, he's back in full force. o_O

Dunno though, this is the first time since we moved in he's been quiet. Hope it stays that way. It's interesting to experience (scary as #### too, got hurt myself but meh) but kinda wish we didn't have to. :/ Still, I'm stubborn and that will see me through. ^_^
