Hi

I have created a script to help people who have forgotten which server their site is on, cos i get annoyed by how many people loose them.

http://freewebs.com/kingystuff/script2.html

What do you think? can anybody think of any improvements?

Also, is there a script to detect what browser somebody is using, i don't want the mozilla warning to appear when a user is using IE for example.

Thanks for any help/tips/advice anybody gives.

The script isn't finished by a long shot but i need a few pointers. (Hey and nobody go stealing my idea, lol)

Cheers

Kingy

kewl.
one question: what if there is a board with the same name on more then one server??
(or is that just not possible?)

there is a code to check what browser somebody has.
think i have it somewhere
*starts looking*

Code:

if(navigator.appName == 'Netscape'){document.write("the text you only want non-IE users to see')}

this would show the text if the user user netscape or a netscape cloon.
(think that includes firefox, but not sure)

this what you are lookin for?

also:
Code:

var loc = prompt("What do you think you called your board? Any ideas? Enter what you think here","Please replace all spaces with underscores.")

the text is to long (only half shows up)

last:
nice code.

looks fine on my screen, i see the entire message

Note: the "Please replace....etc should appear inside the input box

the program will preview any possible hits for all 8 servers, and you cannot have two boards on one server with the same name

OFFTOPIC

I will add a link in my sig is that okay?(i will add in your credits)

It DOES NOT happen the running of script BUT it is ust a message in the end that you should fix if a person is finding 2 or more site

FOR EXAMPLE:

I find something.

Somethign pop-up asking for name
and i type in things
and that 7 server thing pop-up
and after that i click find my forum button again(below) this message appear
