You consider those educated swears? I hate to burst your bubble, but they're not...far from it. There are no "educated" swears, but calling someone a prick is just as bad as calling them an asshole (I hope the word filter will catch that)! |

Sorry, I was tired and being lazy. :$ I was pretty much referring to:
and
Swearing isn't necessarily better than not swearing. But if you want to swear, for whatever reason, you should, rather than holding it in. People who hold their emotions in tend to develop physical and mental health problems after awhile, and people who do it too much tend to lash out at others undeservedly when they finally reach their limit. So what I'm saying is, a lot of people have this strange notion that using a little worldplay to substitute one thing for another has any real value, which it doesn't at all, unless maybe you take the opportunity to express some creativity, which most don't. If Window$ BSOD's on you and you lose 2 hours worth of term paper you'd been writing, you'll probably want to not only say a few obscenities, but perhaps even scream them. You could repress yourself and sit there and count to 10 and not say a word or maybe mutter something under your breath about how Micro$oft doesn't quite seem to have the ability to make a product that actually functions properly and reliably, like your parents or pastor might wish you to. Or you could call your computer and Bill Gates a few choice swear words. Or you could maybe scream at your monitor for a couple seconds. Or you could combine those last two and improve upon it slightly by being a bit more inventive and aggressive with your swearing and hurl curses at it that would make a sailor blush. The intent remains the same for all of those options, so unless you have a nun or a 2 year old, or a prospective employer sitting behind you, you're better off letting it rip and being true to yourself and your emotions, and in the process, releasing some stress and tension, rather than letting it build up. And even if you don't go as far as screaming or using the worst words you can think of, at least part of you may feel better that you didn't let the desires of somebody who's not even there to be affected by it rule your decision making process. |
