On Apache 1.3 Webserver, whenever I add an index file, it should hide the directory structure, but it doesn't. Anyone know why?

You have to add in IndexFile directives in httpd.conf.

They should already be there but won't have PHP ones by default. Search on "index.htm" and look for the IndexFile line.
