DVD Regions!; can anyone....

 Hey, I'm trying to get a DVD from the internet, but I've got confused over something!

I'm located in the UK and for the DVD I'm thinking of getting in it's description it says Region:Free

Does this mean it will play on any DVD players? Because mine is not converted to play special DVDS from America etc?

 Most DVD Players are region free. In fact, in the uk 90% of the dvd players on sale are region free. People just don't know that they are or aware of this. Usually your player or a player for that matter can be unlocked by pressing in a code or by upgrading to a newer firmware.

My kiss 450 (dated now) had to be upgraded to a newer firmware although with that said and done my mustek (even older) only needed a 4 digit code applied to make it region free.

Point is you can probably go out and buy that 24.99 player in argos/littlewoods etc and chances are you will be able to access the region settings. Best noteing down all the dvd players on sale and checking them up on the internet.

I checked out some other DVDS and they had specified regions e.g Region: Region 2 Europe, and as this had nothing like that on it I assume that it should play on most players ok!
