So I accendently hacked a computer at work...

It surprised me more than anything because it was an accident. We have this stupid computer that all it does is show the washinton mutual customer website for people to use. the only problem with it, is it is locked down so tightly you cant do ANYTHING personal on it. Also, this thing is a terrible computer that locks up and restarts ALL the time.

Anyways, i noticed it was restarting again and you have to select a boot version VGA or non VGA. I select non VGA like normal and i dont know what i did, but i somehow got access to Explorer. My mouse didnt work at all so i had to use muh keyboard, but it turns out, this thing runs windows NT 4 and is supposedly easy to open up. Luckily my manager wasnt there because I was seein what i could get into and it turns out...everything. u know boot.ini system.ini, regedit, CMD, everything.

kinda scary seeing as the normal computers at work are so locked down they have disabled the Right-click, the run command, all internet properties, all access to the C:\ drive, my precious command prompt, everything!

funny eh?

I do that too my friend's computer sometimes on accident. He puts this big firewall on his computer. Then sometimes the firewall doesn't work. Like I can go on his personal info without the firewall bloacking me :ermm:

Yeah I'll say that makes a big difference. Maybe you should tell them not to us NT 4? >_<

the thing is a complete waste of space. we will eventually be scrapping it since its basicly unusable. it aint even worth asking if i can have it.

to let customers look at the customer site and setup accounts but it disallows any personal info to be given...basicly its a screensaver.

Yeah, there's plenty of ways around school blocks. I've done it by accident. =P

Speaking of getting into things....if you know ANYTHING..about the internet/computers....you can get into files at school. And not..even..mean it.

Not too long back, I was trying to get to my paper on the Technology section of the school network thing (you're supposed to. =P), when I clicked the wrong folder....this brought me up to the regular "My Computer"-ish menu.

So, I saw the "H Drive" button...got curious, double-clicked...and there..was EVERYTHING on the network of the school. Student's documents, teacher's personal crap, the main webpage, programs..I right-clicked one of the folders..and it gave me the option to delete it. I kinda went  and closed everything out before I got in trouble. lol

But nah, most people aren't as protected on things as they think. Which explains to me why so many "hackerzzz" are such dumbar$3s. o.o'
