I had the same problem and after awhile it will stop. i guess it depends on how many things you are running. also it could be spyware and or a virus. I have had spyware where it would shutdown the computer every so often and a virus that would do the same. so do a virus scan and a spyware scan and see if that does anything for you......

sounds like you've got a virus. If you cant get rid of it, back up your files (to a flash drive maybe), reinstall the system, install a virus protector, update it, then put whatever media has the backed up data on it back into the computer. Run a scan on it and remove any infections before copying your stuff back. This is a really drastic measure, but it will get rid of the virus. :D

Oh, ya, if you are running windows, make sure you go to http://www.windowsupdate.com and download ALL of the security patches.

Spybot Search and Destroy is Adware/Spyware in itself. ;) Get Ad-aware SE if you want to rid yourself of spyware.

He's right, I had a similar virus that involve 180 search assistance ... Ad-Aware SE is your best choice, it got rid of it. (PS if ur comp is going to shut down before Ad-Aware stops sifting through the files... just click Stop/Cancel.. and Ad Aware will still list the files it found... and delete those files before ur comp shuts down)

I've got Ad-Ware SE...I use Spybot to kill some of the more annoying-types, than Ad-Ware SE Personal to finish it and get rid of the MUI lists..theeeen I use the CoolWeb Killer (Or something like that, it gets rid of the CoolWeb virus. 180WebSearch is one of CoolWeb's different 'forms'...I had it for two months.)

why when Ad-Aware gets rid of 180?

there is also a chance, your cpu may be overheating, when you start your computer right when it starts click delete and go into the cmos and then go to something thats says standard cmos features, and then from there to something that says PC health status, and the see what the temperature is. But I am warning you be very careful while in the cmos, it is a fairly dangerous place to be, do not click anything you don't know what it is

I believe people stated this in several of your other topics, but download hijackthis and post your results on a tech support forum with a hijackthis section.
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navc...hijackthis+help

And no, Spybot Search & Destroy is not spyware, to whoever said that.
