I have never taken an IQ test, although I've always been a straight A student, I taught myself how to read when I was 3, and my friends call me smart-ass. I don't think I'm intelligent, but eveeryone about me seems to. :ermm:

I don't like the measure of IQ . . . human beings are way too complex to measure in a number, even though we constantly try to quantify ourselves that way.  For instance, I know several intelligence people who would not do well on an IQ test simply because they don't do well on tests.  I'd probably do  slightly above average, I have great marks in school and a good grasp of complicated subjects. . . .

True. IQ tests have actually been shown to be quite inaccurate.

By the way, I also took a Mensa test in 6th grade. Scored a 150.
I could say my ABC's when I was 1 & could read pretty much any children's story book when I was 2 1/2. Big whoop, I really couldn't care less. Like Prismatic Hero, I think I'm stupid, althought everyone else says I'm smart.... :X

I learned to read because I was angry that I couldn't understand English..I always felt as if everyone were hiding something from me, so my curiosity got the best of me, and I studied intensely. It came almost naturally, to my surprise, and I've been literate (well, mostly  )ever since.

I also believe that IQ tests are extremely innacurate; often times they focus on only one type of concrete intelligence, whereas differenthumans may focus in different areas. For example, someone could be a pocket recorder with a photographic memory and an affinity for mathematics, but have no imagination at all. Cleverness, Statistical Intelligence, and Abstract thinking all measure intellignece are all proof of a human's brainpower; only one is measured with an IQ test.

True. What all of you say is true. IQ tests are inaccurate!!! Not too long ago, I decided to take an IQ test. Scored in the 120 range. Next day, I thought I'd take a different one. Scored about a 147. There is no real way to measure human intelligence. These IQ tests are just a few questions (which repeat, basically, but with a different way of asking.)

You took the online ones. Take a REAL Mensa test...

But I do agree that IQ tests are inaccurate. :r

147 on the Mensa test.

The only test really, all others aren't good at all.

And again, it isn't "how smart you are" its "how you think".

And what makes the mensa test any better?
(If they would be using a totally different testingmethod, you still would have said its the only good test, even though this one is as wel, cousing 2 tests to be the only good test.
(Or something like that :P )

Amen to that.

And don't think I'm dumb because of typos.
Can't help it.
