internet connecting problems

 Today and yesdterday night I had connecting to either my homepage or any other site. No idea why or how it happended, just happens (or happended) suddenly and without notice.

This computer is a XP (used to be a ME), i've scanning for virus's right now. Anyone know what (or why) this is hapenning?

 do you mean that it is connecting automatically or failing to connect at all.

If connecting automatically:

If it does it right when the computer starts, it may be an auto-run deal where it is set to automatically connect.

If it does it randomly, you probably have a dialer program/virus. See if your antivirus catchs anything (make sure it is updated tho). If not, you could try running Microsoft AntiSpyware which you can download here. Although its a beta program, its pretty good. You could also try Spybot S&D which you can get here.
