this game defenitly needs NO strategy guide or anything like that :/ .
the rabbit key was VERY easy to find. the only thing i had trouble with was finding the destruction hammer or sumthing like that, to break stones in a dungeon below the palace.

anyway, i love the game, it's one of my favorites on the PS2.

here's a review i made some time ago.

STAR OCEAN 3 TILL THE END OF TIME

it's a pity that this game is not well known, so that is exactly why i post my review of this game, more people must come to know it!

first off, this game, Star Ocean Till The End Of Time(SO3) is a wonderful RPG made by Tri-Ace, and published by (Square)Enix. Unlike the well-known RPG series final fantasy, this game features a Real-Time battle system, wich is a good thing to start this review with.

The fights take place in some sort of arena, where you're team(up to 3 characters) fights against one or more enemies. Apart from the magic-like Symbology(also known as Runology) you use Battle Skills, that drain your Fury meter.
this meter has multiple functions, if its at 100% and you're not moving, you defend for all minor attacks by the enemy, and you counter-attack when having that skill.
the fury meter drains when using skills and when hit by major attacks of the enemy.
if you're Fury meter is empty or nearly empty, you cannot attack and have to wait until the meter is full again. luckily this goes fast, but it's still something to look after 'cause the enemy will use it as an advantage.

Your attacks are combo's and battleskills. battleskills can be set on the buttons X and O, and both of the buttons have 2 slots, one for short distance and one for long distance. this means you can set up to 4 battle skills you use. to actually use the skills you must hold the button for a while and the skill will be used. if you press the buttons at the right time you unleash some combo's, that you can end with a battle skill, wich mostly leaves the enemy unable to counter attack.
the X attacks and skills are called MINOR attacks, they are fast and weak, and cannot penetrate an enemy's shield, but they take less amount of your Fury meter than the MAJOR attacks, wich are the O attacks. they are slow but powerfull and break through a shield with ease. but they also take much of your Fury meter and some attacks even drain your HP. if either your HP or MP is empty, you're dead.

a new cool feature in this game is INVENTING. this allows you to let you characters(and hired inventors, wich are a whole bunch) invent new items. every inventor except your own characters have one skill they are good at and is the only skill they use. that may be cooking, synthesis, engineering and such. with the inventing option you can not only make your weapons better(wich is higly recommended) but also make new items, and improving them and existing items. this mean that someone might invent a very strong(or weak) weapon that you might want, or a item that heals 90% of your HP and MP. it's usefull to invent alot, you might find very usefull things on your journey. you can earn money with inventing, but mostly you'll just lose it, though you ofcourse can use the items you've created.

there is also a rank list showing how good you are compared to all the other inventors, you can also get a list of all items, inventors and shops (and what they sell). but keep in mind that you need to invest a lot of money in the business before you can actually profit from it.

your real journey starts with one single person, Fayt. you are seperated from your girlfriend Sophia and your parents, when the planet you were on was attacked by strange beings. it won't be very long until you get you're second party member and eventually you will have 6 characters. there are multiple characters that you can get in your team, you might want to think about who you let in your team, 'cause you wont be able to change it. the characters in your team also effects the "private ending', depending on who is your 7th and 8th party-member AND certain answers on questions decide what ending you get.
it might also unlock some events, sidequests that you can take to possibly get a new item.

the story is quite nice, though a little while after you reached the second disc* you'll find some wicked spoiler, one that you defenitly wont expect. many think this spoiler should not have happened, 'cause it might ruin the story, but it is done very well and merely changes the story, though you might not like it.
(*the game is set on 2 DVD's in the US and Europe, so some features that are left out in the Japanese version could still be done)

the graphics of this game might give you the feeling it's quite and old game, its not as top-notch as the box-cover says ;) . the camera might feel strange for a while since you change it with R1 and L1 instead of the more common right analog stick function. but you get used to that, and unless you want superb graphics you wont bother that it's not the best you'll ever see. the gameplay makes up for it.

Graphics: 7/10 it looks like quite some old game, but don't let that bother you too much, this game is all about gameplay.
Music: 8.5/10 the music in the dungeon's is not some peacefull quiet music that you might expect but wild rock kinda guitar music that actually realy fits in all of it, very wild and active music.
Gameplay:9.5/10 though the camera might bother you for a while, and the battle systems takes some time, it plays very nice and the battles are very fun, the controls are really good in the battles, no problems so far.
length:9/10 the main quest is quite a long one, and there's much to do like inventing and sidequests to do. the NPC's seem to have different text after nearly every major event, so be sure to check it out for anything interesting!
Replay: 8.5/10 there is plenty of sidequests to do, a battle trophy systems, 2 unlockable difficulties, inventing system, VS mode and the characters you can choose to take in your team all means that you might be playing this for quite some time
OVERALL: 9.1/10
As i said it's a pity that many do not know this game, it is a very cool RPG that defenitly can match up to the major ones like the FF series, i in fact like this one more than FFX. there's plenty to do and it has a very good feel to the game, though that spoiler i mentioned was a little disappointing.

Awesome game, except for the intro. It took way too long to get through it, and some of it was even pointless crap... :@
