Users of alternative browsers were happy to see Internet Explorer gone. Thad Freeman of the Mozilla Users Group said, "I've been trying for years to get rid of Internet Explorer. I never imagined that Microsoft would do it for me. I'm ecstatic."
Hahahahaha, that sums it up.

lol the article is SOOO funny.

In microsoft's defense tho, I have to say that I downloaded the Beta of MSAntiSpyware, and it works without a hitch. Also installed it on my neighbor's laptops while I was working on fixing them up and it worked fine.

Liked the Firefox user's quote on there tho.

Edit:

Oh ya: MSAntiSpyware is NOT offered on Windows Update currently.

Symantec Antivirus Research reported that virus sightings were down by 95% this morning.

"I tried to check the weather this morning and all my little blue 'e' icons were missing. I couldn't get to the Internet at all. I guess I'll have to get a new computer," said Windows XP user Graham Newton.

CERT Recommends finger condoms when using IE
Quote:

"If you can't avoid Internet Explorer or find any finger condoms then we suggest tough leather gloves, and washing your hands strenuously with an anti-viral soap for five minutes after using the computer. It's not failsafe, but it's better than nothing," advised Kiera Thompsen of US-CERT.

Redmond, WA - In an effort to boost sagging revenue growth, Microsoft today announced it will begin selling advertising space on the company's world famous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)©. The screen, displayed whenever Windows cannot recover from an error in the operating system's core, until now has historically served as a display of unintelligible diagnostic data that has not made any sense to anyone, ever, according to a survey conducted by the Gartner Group. In addition, the BSOD has scared most users because it was composed mainly of hexadecimal digits that, which in extreme cases, can lead to hallucinations, epileptic seizures and homosexuality in primates and rats.

Quote:

For earlier versions of Windows, the BSOD ads will be installed using the Windows Update feature. However, Windows XP systems connected to the Internet will automatically install the new software in the middle of the night when no one is looking.

...Yeah, that site owns.
