That really depends on who you ask. Most people would say that hacking would be like when somebody uses skill and knowledge to exploit security holes in software, etc., while cracking would be more along the lines of guessing somebody's poor excuse for a password. |

Have a chocolate chip cookie  Passwords should be 32 characters long and saved onto notepad then saved, it would make things alot harder, also use letters, numbers and symbols. |

Not sure I agree with that, but there are various means to break into your text file or read the contents of your clipboard, so I always advise against that. Make it 32 characters or so, but something you can easily remember. Example: MyGrandpaSmellsLikeMoldyCheese would be decent, but convert it to 1337 and you get: MyGr4ndp45m31151|k3M01dy(h3353 which would be better, but shift everything over 1 key to the left and you get: NtFe3bso34n2``4`}j2N9kst*g2242 which, if anybody manages to crack, they deserve to have your forum.

1337 hurts my corneas... :blink: I've never had a bored cracked personally. I have had admins who have gone crazy and deleted boards however >_< |
