I'm confused. You are saying you can do much more powerful things using "javascript and flash and dhtml and xmhtml", when ActionScript is used within Flash to achieve effects. Javascript most definitly cannot do the things that can be done with Flash + ActionScript, same with 'xmhtml# (i'm guessing you mean xhtml - if not, feel free to correct me). The only one i am unsure about is dhtml - but thats because i have little experience with it. I'm well confused

DHTML is just the combined usage of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. ActionScript in Flash would beat it any day. I think Iostream was just confusing ActionScript with perhaps VBScript (which I believe is a Microsoft invention). ActionScript is a Macromedia scripting language native to Flash, you can't run it on a webpage unless it's in a Flash object. VBScript is a client-side scripting language similar to JavaScript. |
