Other then deleting windows it self, I know no way to delete windows media player. They build it into windows I guess. Like kingy said: Tell us why you want to get rid of it. Maybe somebody knows a better way. (Even though deleting windows sounds pretty good to me  ) |

Aye, like they say, you can't delete it. You could just get a better player and change media players settings so it dosen't bother you. |

Hmm? You can't delete it? Yet another reason to hate Micro$oft, I guess. Well, if you can't delete it, I'm sure you could corrupt the hell out of it to the point it won't ever function again. I may do that right now, out of spite. Then just associate any media filetypes with the player of your choice.

You can use Set Program Access and Defaults to "remove" it. |

Depending on what you have, yes you can. You can go to add/remove software and delete it from there. |

dont remove it. if you do, you will lose any and all codecs that come with WMP 10. reinstall it, but dont set any file extensions to be default to WMP10. go get winamp 5.08e and be happy. also search for KLite Codec Pack Full and download it and install all the codecs. you will now have access to play any and all audio and video file formats. this includes EVERY format. i keep WMP10 around for drivers. its always good to have it installed just for the drivers and codecs that come with it. |

I don't even touch WMP anymore. iTunes is much easier to use and has a way cooler look. :lights: |
