 You heard me! With the stroke of midnight at -5 GMT it is officially pi day for me! :w00t:

What is pi day you ask? This is one of my personal favorites, as is required of any good member of the IF community. Well, let us consult the trust worthy Wikipedia, shall we?

March 14, written 3/14 in the USA date format, is the official day for Pi day derived from the common three-digit approximation for the number p: 3.14. It is usually celebrated at 1:59 PM (in recognition of the six-digit approximation: 3.14159). Some, using a twenty-four-hour clock rather than a twelve, say that 1:59 PM is actually 13:59 and celebrate it at 1:59 AM instead. Parties have been held by mathematics departments of various schools around the world.

I myself prefer to celebrate it by getting as close to a different species of pi, commonly known as pie. Preferably pumpkin. I'm headed off to buy a giant $50 cookies and cream pie today after my engineering midterm (they don't have pumpkin). Mmmmm, it's going to be beautiful. :wub: :drool: What about you guys, how do you plan on celebrating your pi(e) day? ^_^
