I'm really tired by exchanging banner but still less traffics on my site...Most of the webmasters saysthis is the best way to exchange banner but it is not effective. Do you have any idea???Or which is the best banner exchage program?? |

Listen, no matter how many banners you "exchange" it's not going to help. No one wants to go to a site with banners plastered at every corner of it, no wonder why you have no members. You need to get your forum looking attractive, new skin new banner, whatever you need to get your forum to look inviting. Affilating doesn't really help and banner exchanges like I said aren't going to do much except make your forum one giant billboard. |

it also depends on what your boards offering, if someone else is offering the same thing as you, then chances are they wont go to both places, but if your board is more unique then anyone eolse's you'll get mroe people, wether you got a custom skin and banner or not. |

But attraction is a key part to presentation. Some people have the mindset that a prettier forum they'll register on than a bland one with a default skin. Both offering the same thing. |

But if it's not pretty in the first place, people wouldn't even bother looking twice at it. So, don't talk bout askin' them to join... But being a pretty board ain't gonna work long term if you have nothing interesting on it... |

Best to concern yourself with having better content. Pretty doesn't really matter, as long as it's not annoying. Look at this forum.  It's plain, and rather blindingly bright to me and therefore annoying, though some silly people seem to like simulated lightbulb skins for some reason, but it's certainly a bit plain, and not what I would call pretty. People come here for the content, not the looks. And the sexy staff, of course, but mainly for the content. I don't usually have people whose opinions I value suggesting I join or check out a forum because it looks pretty. They usually say the members are cool or literate or helpful or post the funniest links, or they have an arcade or whatever. I also think affiliates are good, and work, but only if they're the right affiliates. Most people will affiliate with just about anybody, hoping to get members, but if your forum offers the same thing as theirs, or is completely unrelated, you're not likely to gain many members. And of the ones you do gain, not many will be good and/or active members, so it's probably a waste of time and space. |

This part really had me giggling  but it's very true, content is the most important thing.A highly disorganized or ugly board will be an annoyance, but if the content and the members are great, I don't really care... that much  And finding the people you want to invite to your board is pretty important too, try finding some other places on the web where people with the same interests as you hang out, that's my best advice
