Basically. A lot of users try to respond to every or atleast many support topics here to make themselves look good and get on the support team. The fact of the matter is that, a support member must not only know what material or subject they may be working with, but they must also have the ability to have the maturity and responsibility in recieving these extra roles once they are promoted.

If you don't want to land on the bad side of the fence, you have to learn that answering many support topics doesn't prove anything. It just shows that you're on IF a lot and can post. Try to 'pick your battles'. With that, respond to support topics here and there. With this, it shows that you're able to give support (granted you do give the right information) and that you're not doing it for the sakes of trying to impress the admins.

Also, try to answer topics that are "out of the ordinary". If you're able to answer a lot of those, it will truly show your knowledge of the system. Give support because they need it, not because you think there is a prize at the end of the forum...

Excellent definition. And too true. Though I swear I killed moderator volunteer before the fad caught. If there is anyone with moderator volunteer, then feel free to send them ALL of your TOS violations and PM Advertisements. Let them try and handle that.

technically it IS encyclapedic mainly because the entire article is REALLY based on fact and truths. although a bit generalised and sort of directed at new guys wanting post counts, it overall does do the name Support Volunteer service.

i say e-mail the wiki guys and tell them to hang int he support forums fora few days...they may reconsider

This reminded me a lot of Yoda's blog :r funny, anyway i said it before, I dun care about post count, anyway I never once called myself a "support volunteer" I just hand out support that i know.

What about Yoda's blog?

Really. I very much dislike when people put "Support volunteer" in their signature. Gets very annoying.

I reedited it, tried to make it more neutral. I didn't want to turn it into a "Support Volunteers are bad" article.

In a few of my blogs, I touched on my opinion of support and moderator volunteers

i hope that doesnt get deleted. i wonder if noob or pwned are on wiki...*runs to go check*

--after searching wiki for a few things i found that they do in fact have pages based on leet, pwn, roxxor, newb, and many other things. although more nuetral and encyclapedic, i believe there is still an aer of sarcasm that comes with it.

therefore i believe the support volunteer wiki could have a chance at remaining on wiki
