Getting Hacked

 Well I finally got my account back thanks to Seth and Phrank. (Only after a gruesome interrogation by Seth, which only shows how secure IF is! :D )

I don't know if anyone's been hacked before. But it doesn't feel good, you feel pretty insecure.

I will say this: Use DIFFERENT password for every single site.
I did this too... but then I became lazy and used ONE password the same as another account, they found an email account through that password and pressed "Resend Password" for another account..... and yadda yadda yadda...

I had a nice password that I thought no one would get and no one got did FIGURE it out... but one thing you have to realize is that some admins can obtain ur password when you log onto their site. >_< and thats the EASIEST way to get a password.

So I finally fixed the chain of "password retrievals" in my emails :P



Anyways I'm back!

 InvisionFree sites don't get hacked, they get cracked, so if the site does get deleted, it's only the administator of the sites fault for not choosing a secure password, as it has been advised thousands of times throughout the forum.

Alright ... crack / hack ... :P it 's just more natural to say "hack" than "my site was cracked"!

My point is that you have to also use DIFFERENT passwords for different sites.

Watch out what sites you sign up to, some admin are devious!

1 At least 8 caracters long
2 use special caracters ex (☺☻♥♣◘♦♠○•♂♀)
3 use 1337 (leet)
4 No birthdays/names/real world items

What's the differene?

Hacking implies the use of skills, programmes and intelligence.

Cracking is generally guessing the password, crackers aren't required to have intelligence just patience and a dictionary.

 I don't think it has to do with HOW people get in..but more with WHY...

I think cracking is when people hack with a malicious intent by going into areas they have no authority to be in.

 My meaning was with reference to our crackers only, I don't mean crackers in general. The term people use for hacker on here is usually incorrect so we've sort of developed our own mini-terms. :r

Well, i can do this:

Do get this you use this code:
º - hold ALT and press 167 then let go of ALT.
¿ - Hold ALT and press 168 then let go of ALT.
ô - Hold ALT and press 147 then let go of ALT.
☺ - Hold ALT and press 1793 then let go of ALT.

Try and experemnt with it. See what you can write down.. but remember to write the code for it ;)
