Removed ^ That would be me on ZT's forum and I have been banned at the SZ for months so I have long since forgotten alot of the SZ's members, I was talking to Alpharob (from SZ/IFP) and I was gonna use 'Lightz' at IFP but he said I couldn't cause of SZ Lightz. I got the idea for Lightz from the Emote - lights ( :lights: ) but I didn't want it to be perfect so I changed the s to z (sz, how weird) Is there anything wrong with that? I mean, as long as people know the GZe Lightz isn't the SZ Lightz who cares... right? Whut should I do? It's not like the guy has a copyright on the name >_< |

As long as you don't pretend to be him, there shouldn't be a problem. He holds no ownership over the word or name 'lightz' and if he thinks he does he's deluded. :rolleyes: Just as anyone can use 'OcelotJay' on another board so long as they don't pretend to be me (i.e. claim to be me) as that's fraud. |

It worked for me. :unsure: If you're using FF, it sometimes does that.  By the by Broly, is Lights an admin at that forum? If so he could deny your the right to the name because he's an admin, if he's not then it's none of his business really. |

No, it's Zero Tolerance's forum, so thanks for answering this... Alpha just kinda worried me throwing out stuff like identity theft; I was like 'its not theft if your just usin the name... is it' heh...

Nah, it would only be fraud and perhaps identity theft if you said you were Lightz from SZ. I would advise avoiding it in order to get him off your back but you're not doing anything wrong as far as I can see. Lightz isn't copyrighted to him nor did he even invent it (there are a gazzillion on MSN and such) but I understand his worry. Play safe and all will be well. |
