Dear god look at all of thoose. At most you need:
Firefox
Adaware SE
Spy bot search and destroy

Firefox is a browser, Adaware SE and Spy bot S&D are both spyware detectors, Zone Alarm is a firewall, and Avast! is a virus detector.
MS anti spy, I don't have, so I don't know what all it does, nor do I really care to find out, since I don't trust Microsoft.
Anyway, they all do different things, so you should use all of them.
Well, not specifically those ones, necessarily, but you should have all that stuff, and overlapping/redundant protection is always a good idea.
Except you can't generally have multiple virus scanners, as they interfere with each other.

A blast from the past.

 MS anti Spy is good right now lets you get the IE tool bars off gets some stuff Spy BOt and Ad aware does not see. My prodiction once its a final version then it will stink. :r :lol:

 Once people find all the security holes in it and exploit them for months at a time before they get fixed, and Microsoft gets bribed by makes deals with certain marketing companies to modify it to not detect or fix certain stuff? :angel:

I use Fedora Linux, Core 3. I'm happy with that as is.

Plus Linux is much more secure, partially because it is open source.

Oh and Firefox does not protect against viruses & spyware. I prefer Mozilla Suite, but both have better pop-up blocking than IE6. But, if hackers focused on Firefox, I'm sure they could find many ways to exploit it. :r

Probably should remove it though.
I personally don't believe all the security holes in IE and WMP have been accidents. :r

You're just not visiting all those special sites as much, I bet. :eh:

I usually only find a few tracking cookies.
Haven't figured out how to block them yet. :/

LOL! if I ever wanted to, I'd be sure to use firefox, that's for sure ;)

but it's true though, I go to the same sites as before, some are on free domains and thus packed with pop-ups and worse, and IE used to let a lot of stuff through that firefox just doesn't.
The few times I've run IE (like for my banking) I can always tell because Ad-Aware will find a few tracking cookies in my IE catche, otherwise I'll just get a 'nothing to worry about' result.

Oh and as for other security programs I use ZoneAlarm and AVG free
