 I heard that all of Apple's benchmarks on their site, as well as all their other advertisements are false. It is said that any Athlon 64 could outbeat a PowerMac G5. In the benchmarks, on all the systems besides the G5, Apple loops a debugging program which slows down the CPU. This is how the G5 is up to 98% faster than an FX55 & an Intel Xeon 3.6.

Oh and by the way, these are the benchmarks to which I was referring to earlier.

 AMD64 procs are some of the best out there on the market today. it really doesnt AMD64 procs are some of the best out there on the market today. it really doesnt matter that th g5 may be faster. what matters that the AMD 64's are much more versitle as well as more widely distributed and can be used in PC's. for all i care Apple could release the fastest proc on the planet. and yet so many people wouldnt care seeing as its built on a unix architecture that isnt fairly effective when used in a PC world.
