IF has some features removed, but better features that are added

I would suggest that between 70% and 80% of IF users would not use the features we have removed, barring FTP access (for mods). Since IF2 will allow true mod installation (not just JS hacks), then even that barrier is removed.

One of my favorite things to see is people that request a Conversion so they can use a full IPB board. When they get it all installed (which is a lot more complex than filling out your name and URL like on IF ;) ) then they don't even know how to work the skinning system, so their board looks less customized than it even did on IF.

There are some pretty cool tricks that you could only perform on hosted boards. We will be exploiting those to set IF apart very soon :)

Like what features? I can only find one or two features that IPB does not have.
Like the bump a topic thing. But otherwise, I see no big features.

Well, multiple skins is one of the bigest things that have been removed..

Well, if the person was not a total newb, they could understand it. I used to host my forums on IF, got an IPB, and without any knowladge, I got it working just fine. It looks overwhelming in the beggining, but then you start to see the features and understand.

 ^ This is what I dont understand IPB fans on a IF forum if IF is so terrible why are you here. If the answer is to make a point about IPB then you are just causing trouble. If the answer is you like both it's a lie. and if the answer is you are trying to make yourself look like a jerk with nothing better to do then you are just being honest. I like and use both IF and IPB and to tell the truth I preffer running my IF boards just because it's intuitive and basically an easy interface. I don't need extra admins etc to run them. IF>IPB not by much but it is that little bit that makes it better.

 Sorry PhranK it just makes me mad people just causing trouble like that..

But I thought of another way to improve my IF forums o.o Mass pming everyone here on supprt zo :o :smithster: :$ :unsure: :angry: :ph34r: :qb: >_< <_< :wacko: :blink: .... I mean making myself more likeable and personable. It is sometimes the biggest problem for forum owners and that is getting peeps to like and respect you.. I think doing that would help everyone's forum
