I don't understand why administrators have to give themselves like 8000 posts, it's not as if the board's post count actually rises,

Not all of them do. On my site my post count is what it should be. If I am in a post and it get's deleted I lower my count. Only n00bs or people wanting to make them selves look expersince do it. Everyone is a bit impreesed when they see posts:8000, but when they relize it is fake they are more turned off then anything else. |

Haha, I did that except I changed it to 1337 for the day (changed it back again) on 1st of April.  I'd never do it seriously though, it's silly and obvious that it's fake.

People actually do that? That's the stupidest thing I've heard for awhile. What are they thinking? "I've had a low post count for years at every forum I've ever been on.. but all that's about to change! I finally have my own forum and absolute power.. I'll give myself 100,000 posts and nobody will ever have a higher count than me again!!!1 People will have to stop calling me a noob now."  Ya'll should check out this code. It works. It kicks ass. Hopefully it will get even better. :geek: |

That can back fire if the script all of a suddern takes a longer time to load than the ACTUAL post count....and one of the members sees it ...but I guess most members will figure its random eventually and not care about the actual..or at least not feel decieved.

Its kinda weird and stupid for an admin to go like I have 999,999 post and the board only have like a few thousand.. .. it really shows the quality of the site. Yeah I also know there are ways to make you site look alot larger than it really is but I also think this shows the poor quality of the site to begin with. So I wouldnt do either under any circumstance.. The only thing remotely like this that I have done is give myself money for my forums store just enough to buy what i wanted. |

Not all post counts are fake, on a board I had more than 12500 posts (and I wasn't an Admin). It's fake when the site is new, but a guy who's spent a few months posting can have lots of thousands of posts... |

yeah I know at what was IFDU I made 7,000 + over the course of about 6 months without cheats so i know it's possible. Just saying I've actually seen newbies giving them selves like 54832401241290481284129034890 post and the forum only have a few hundread post... what i really hate thoguh is people using scripts to make the forum they run look larger than it really is I've seen extreame cases where a site would say it had 3000 members and its member list be like 6 pages long and then say they had 1000's of post but then the forum count not match it get's annoying... I believe such scripts should be like banned out of IF 2.0 acp where you cant alter vital statistics like that. |

I have seen admins who raise their post count to 800, but the board post count is only on 2
