I'd been on the first page of Google results for a few months and then I changed to my own domain name. Now I'm nowhere, anyone else seen this happen? [removed] |

Yep. You didn't need to include the link. It doesn't have anything to do with the subject.

Blatant? Please, the main point of his post was not to advertise. Let's not attack one another, eh? |

Didn't see it happen. But didn't see any forum change url anyway ![]() I think google works on url, not site/forum. (So the new url needs to get hits to get back on top) Think this is what happend. Not sure though  (So don't go screaming at me if I'm wrong )

Yeah, it just thinks the old site is gone. So it will take a bit to move back up the list; however I have found that when using your own domain you actually get a higher PageRank in the end

Yep, me noticed this too I guess it does indeed help if you buy a domain, although I'm unsure how. Meh who cares, I'm higher in rank! |

InvisionFree has so many forums under the .invisionfree.com domain that they tend to dilute a bit. Best to be all on your own. |

Using InvisionFree will get you into Google then using your own domain will get you higher. |
