 I previously said on this forum that I wasn't a big fan of "American Idiot", but I found out a few facts that has totally changed my view on this album.

1) the original album green day was suppose to put out was actually STOLEN so this album was made in less time.

2) they still wanted an amazing album to put out..so this time they got each band member to come up with five songs, 30 second each.

3) They put all the songs together and came out with amazing tracks... don't listen to the radio releases only... I wasn't going to get this album b/c i didnt like their releases..but if you listen to songs like "Jesus of Suburbia" (probably the best example of the new green day style) you'll hear more a punk-opera effect which sounds AMAZING! I'm loving this album just as much as the rest of them. :)
