 One thing to do it put a link in your signature. :)
Also you could add it into your profile under Your website url.
Nathan's Forum Promotion Guide also has some nice tricks and traits you can use. :D

 Being active on other boards, especially large ones, can also help. Once you become well known, your site won't be far behind.

anyway, Find a friend forum that is starting out, Become staff there if you can, just make sure it becomes big. When it does, Advertise. Not only you are already known, you also have a higher chance of getting big fast!
