Yeah America may have helped towards the end...but only after an attack on their own turf. You cannot forget the thousands of British/French etc that died first. And the germans as well, |

The Soviets also played a part. If they hadn't been pushing the Germans on the eastern front, The Americans, Canadians and Brits would have had a tough time defeating the germans. Dropping an A-bomb on Germany would have had a devastating effect on the whole of Europe. I'm not praising the communists though .

Generally Russians were defeating Germans because it was in their interest. Since Hitler attacked Russia as well. But same as Napoleon got beaten up badly anyway that came from the interested not being so generous to fight for other nations freedom. Also Russians always wanted to have Poland and neighbour counties under control. You heard Putin: "The end of Soviet Union was the greatest catastrophy of XX century.". Duh! Regards. |

Because at that time we tried to stay nuetral. Of course when someone attacks your own turf, what else do you do? Don't just say it's OK it probablly was an accident. Anyway, HAPPY VE DAY! Thanks to all the Vets. |

Actually we were never going to stay neutral :/ FDR knew that one time or another US was going to have to get involved, and if they did not that Germany would take over Europe and we would of had been doomed... So FDR had to think of a way to get the American Public to support a WW, and he knew that P.H. was the perfect way, we now know that FDR knew that P.H. was going to happen, but he did not focus on it because he knew that he was going to need support from the people to go to war, and Having the public think that P.H. was unknown about and unfair was just the way... He did know about P.H. http://www.apfn.org/apfn/pearl_harbor.htm
