Anyone know how different an Invision Zone forum is than a regular Invision or IPS forum is? Is there a difference at all? |

Not sure what you're talking about. Invision Zone? There's Invision Power Board and InvisionFree, and that's all I know of with Invision in the name. |

LOL Ok it won't let me post the URL, but it's an Invision forum, just not for free. |

An invision zone is a Free IPB hosted by ----------.com IF is a modified IPB board hosted here. I think this topic is really advertising though :/ |

Invision Zone boards are not free. $10 & up. It's a part of Invision, just a different division I guess. EDIT - Ah so are you saying the board is the exact same as an IF board, but you just pay for the hosting? The board isn't an upgrade from IF? |

Ah, I see. I guess I should keep more up-to-date on IPS stuff. So that's their new name or new version of their official hosting service they offer for IPB forums. The basic difference, as Das Ein said, is that it's a paid service that hosts forums running IPB software, and IF is a free service that hosts a modified version of IPB software. I'm not sure, but I would assume they offer hosting for IPB 2.0 and previous versions. IF is based off of IPB 1.3, but has a lot of changes from 1.3, and IF 2.0 will be even more different from IPB 2.0, so they're similar, but not the same. |

The board looks identical to IPB - the ads, but the admin cp is different, since Duffman modified it. |
