Erm.. I'm like totally clueless on the whole CSS bit. I'm trying to get it.. but it's just not working. Can someone help me learn basics.. or perhaps.. a site that shows basic and a lil advanced CSS. It would be a big help. Thanks! *nods*

We had a similar reaction at our board, Kira. "What the f*ck is this, and how do we make it pretty?" Mostly through trial and error, really, my Mods and I managed to pick out the elements we wanted to change and got stuff linked to our graphics. When it came time to tweak, I did things like bump fonts up to 50px (pixels), looked what part of the board it affected, and then reset it to what we wanted.

When we were starting, we printed the Stylesheet code and all the screens from here, a site that provides a literal roadmap to IVF's CSS (ex: THIS is 'row 4,' THAT is 'titlebar' etc.). IVF's Codes and Hacks were mostly for fancier stuff than we wanted, but still has many useful code snippets you should browse.

If you want hex colors (the six-place alphanumerics that make backgrounds, bars, boxes, et al.), look here. And when you'd like to get your meta tags--the embedded descriptors that help search engines identify your content--in order, go here (also has a bunch of other code generators).
