i learned the other day that most of the revenue made by IF is from the google ads, which didnt surprise me- but what DID suprise me is that <1% of the users on here use ad removal... i would think itd be more than that
who else uses ad removal?

It's not only Ad Removal that keeps these boards running.
It's advertizing that keeps them running.
How about all the people who have board transfers from IF to IPB?
How about all the people that need to be re-admined?
There are many ways they are making money here.

dont forget that the $5 you pay is only for a certain amount of clicks/page views and it will run out very quick if you have a popular board

really? i wasnt aware of that

$0.15 per 1,000 page views

So $5 at the above price wont last forever but at the same time wont run out too quickly either

Even if you had a board that had 1000+members it would be irrelevant because you could probably get paying advertisers as well as the ad removal etc :)

Here is your answer:

InvisionFree TOS

3.5 Advertising Content:
You may not place the following forms of advertising on your board (an exception is granted to boards that have purchased ad removal): (a) Content-targeted Advertising; (B) Text-based Advertising; © Pop-ups for downloads or that interfere with navigation of the board.

"Text-based advertising" applies to the Google Ads I think.

If you purchase ad removal, then you are free to place ads on your forum.
