I think they should be removed from the main board view instead. It looks really bad, IMO. |

I would actually perfer it the way it is. Seeing a nice banner, then text looks bad, but I don't mind banners on the bottom of topic pages. |

No I mean I want them on the index page, and I don't mind them in the topics. If it were my decission I would make all ads below the banner image ads. Sorry for not being clear. |

I would prefer no image ads at all, of course, but barring that, I'd much prefer image ads at the bottom of the topic view, and text ads at the top of the index view. From a design standpoint, it's horrible to have an image ad that doesn't match your skin plastered at the top of your board, especially on the main index where most people arrive at your forum. At the very least, it would be nice to have it the way it is, but with text ads only on the main index page, while leaving the image ads on the other indexes, to allow for a good first impression. :/ |

Exactly, I agree with you. If we're going to have to have image ads, at least use them in post view or elsewhere, just not on the main index view. It just looks really bad. |

I tend to agree with you on this point, and it's because on my own board, I have removed the submenu and used those links on an image map on my logo. Then with the image ads, it's looks very akward, with my sites logo and right beneath it an image ad which doesn't match the skin at all. |

We have very limited control over image ads. We are looking into maybe switching to a reduced number of image ads overall rather than none in topics. |

Yeah, that'd be much better, I undertsand the ad company would want to keep image ads, but if the amount of them to appear could be lowered, that'd be great. |

I'm glad to hear the number of image ads is being lowered; since they often include animation and bright colors, they really clash with the skins of boards. The text ones I don't mind at all, since they blend right in and are pretty subtle. |

The only reason I asked was just out of curiousity after I saw images on my main board. I have no problem with image ads or text ads. |
