I doubt that... Or was the date 1st April 2005?  Gamespot does have ads though, but usually sensible ones... That ad is not real, it is a rather tired spoof...  Knowing my luck, It'll probably turn out that I'm wrong...

Damn, gotta get my eyes checked...  Wow, the hardest "click-the-right-star" ad i've seen yet... Shows to see how stressful ads have evolved to become even more stressful. If everyone hates ads, why still make them? I don't get it. They're so annoying, only a little percentage of the internet population (and decreasing as you read this) pay attention to ads. :/ Sure they generate traffic, but popup ads are nothing but to be helped with the scary red "X" at the top right of the window that all ad-makers fear.
