well Finals are ehere and for creative writing we had to either write 3 poems with all poems stuff in them or or a 3-10 page short story with all the elements. So me running out of submitible poems, i went with the short story but i think mine might be just a little to over the top for creative writing classes.

I call it NailVille. it was originally a comic i was going to write and illustrate, but do to time constraints i decided to write as a story first. i only have like the first tid bit done ut u can see where its going from here.

it was either this, or a backstory about my D&D character. please read and give me a yes/no on submission.

Moving day. A day so full of gain, loss, anxiety, joy…but to a manic-depressive, schizophrenic who was a former school exile…. it’s all loss. A loss of what is familiar, a loss of those few people who were not called friends, but those people who may or may not even acknowledge that other people in the world still exist.

Meet Freddy. He was once a normal child, but thanks to a few “friends” of his, he was scarred for life by spending the night in an abandoned house wrought with spiders and being forced to watch old reruns of Webster and Three’s Company, all the while being poked, prodded, punched, and made fun of by his “friends”.

It was either that, or the time when he called his former teacher “Mommy” and upon being made fun of, responded by wetting himself and yelling, “Now I’ll never be a backup dancer for MC Hammer!” Let’s just say he didn’t have the best childhood and just skip ahead a few years.

A few months ago, Freddy’s distant father announced they would be moving to no longer be the stain of the town. Although he didn’t show it, Freddy was sad to leave his hellhole of torment that he called a town, just for the sake of that it was normal to him.

Now to not belittle Freddy anymore, let’s move ahead once again to moving day.

One odd thing that was never noted was Freddy’s father never mentioned the town, nor the state they were moving to. He just referred to their new home as, “Far away from here, and far away from anything that you can taint.”

Content with that answer, Freddy began to pack and within a few minutes of starting, he finished by fitting all of his personal belongings into a single backpack. Too many bad memories associated with too many items.

Freddy’s family hopped in the car and drove for days only stopping for bathroom breaks along the side of the road and gas stations. Freddy’s fear of long car rides nearly did him in until he saw the sign for NailVille. His father announced they had arrived and slowly pulled up to a dilapidated house that seemed as if it was about to fall over…much the housing in New Jersey.

Freddy stepped out of the car to see not the bright sun that plagued his pale skin, but to a dreary smog covered haze that covered the entire city and nothing else. Almost exactly like any other day in New Jersey or Seattle.

Freddy’s mother, who had been hopped up on Lithium giggled like a new Asylum patient and said, “Why don’t you start your new life off with making some new friends!”

Freddy responded, “That’s the same thing you said the last time I went to school and was violated by the schools drug dog who found my medication.”

“I’M NOT SUGGESTING IT TO YOU, I’M FORCING YOU TO! NOW DO IT BEFORE YOU BURN IN THE PITS OF HELL FOREVER!” Freddy’s mother replied in the voice of a demon spawn that we all know to be Joan Rivers.

Knowing that this was true, Freddy ran himself next door to the Stabs residence.

Freddy knocked on the door and was greeted by a very nice looking lady who looked as if she just saw a new baby kitten.

“Hello. My name is Freddy, and I’m new here. Would you know of any children who live around here?” Freddy asked.

Still smiling, the lady responded, “Why yes! I have a son! I’ll get him for you!”

A minute later, she returned with a child laced in blackened garments and said, “Now play nice!” and then walked back inside.

After an idle pause, Freddy began, “I’m Fred…”

“I know…I heard you.” The boy said as he interrupted Freddy.

“Well what’s your name then?” Freddy asked quizzically.

“I am Death Incarnate placed on this earth to reap destruction, death, and chaos until infinity….but you can call me Stab. Come, we have much work to begin.” Stab responded.
