Well, there is a firefox browser out there, but what about avant? I have Avant and I think it is better. How? Avant has the wide range of sites for you like using IE, but offers the security and tabbedness of Firefox. Give me a reason that Firefox is superior to Avant. :neo: http://www.avantbrowser.com/ I can tell you lots of ways it's superior to Firefox.

This far (been using FF for some time now) I have only seen one page that will only work when using IE, and thats because the guy that made it put in a script checking what browser you have and if its not IE the page won't go. (So Avant won't work there eigher )But I might give it a try, if it works better, maybe I'll start using it all the time. |

According to the site, it's "as safe as Internet Explorer". I could be wrong of course, but if Avant is based on IE, and it supports ActiveX, than I don't see why it's much safer. I also haven't encountered that many sites that fail to work in FF. And those sites that don't are usually poorly designed sites, so I'd rather not visit them at all. |

I've tried all these. Avant sucks. Avant, Maxthon, Phaseout, IE, Netscape, all crap. Opera, FF, Mozilla Suite, rock.
That should be the hint that says DON'T USE IT! The security of IE? What assurance does that give us? IE has NO SECURITY! HAHAHAHA |

Plus it still has IE's crappy out of date rendering engine. |

Yes. I also read that IE has the slowest rendering engine of all the browsers and FF and Moz Suite have the fastest |

Click the Tools menu, then click Disable ActiveX. That easy and simple.

IE also allows you to turn off ActiveX. I don't see how an easy to find option on the menu would make a browser more secure. I'm willing to believe Avant has some great features, but without good security or a decent rendering engine, I'm not even going to try it, sorry. |

There are lots of IF codes that fail to completely or at all work with Firefox's Javascript engine. But all of the codes here are compatible with Avant. Much of the software like Propel Internet Accelerator ( http://www.propel.com/ ) are compatible ONLY with IE and Avant. I used to be a Firefox user, Liked it, Hated IE afterwards, then gave Avant a try. Now, I can go to any page without error and have security that rivals Firefox (I have ActiveX disabled. B) )
Did you know that Mozilla Firefox was not built from the ground up? It uses the Netscape Rendering engine with the netscape Javascript Engine also. Avant is more secure than IE and Firefox combined with all of Avant's security features Enabled. By DEFAULT, it is secure as IE, but click all options in the tools menu (as displayed in the first screenshot below), and you've got security that exceeds Firefox. Oh yeah, not to mention, it comes with a BUILT-IN ad-blocker (unlike Firefox, since on FF you have to search around the Internet for an extension, but on Avant, you don't need to do all of that, you already have it) ALREADY pre-installed with a MASSIVE black list (Second screenshot below). And is you don't know, Avant also lies in your system tray for fast and easy access. If Avant crashes, you can easily restart it back up by clicking the "A" icon in the system tray (Third Screenshot). A dialog box will pop up saying that Avant didn't close with all tabs closed. It asks you which tabs you want to keep closed, and the tabs you want to revive. Best thing again, It comes BUILT-IN. You can't do that on Firefox unless you search the whole web (which consists of more than 20,000,000,000 pages) to find an extension that even remotely does that. ![]() Image Image Image |
