It goes both ways: A. How could somebody be stupid enough to waste time and rescources of police, search teams, etc. that could be used to save people for her own stupid escape? How can you be that selfish? B. How can people be stupid enough to waste rescources looking for somebody who goes missing on their wedding day? She was just running away from the wedding? Ya Think!? |

If law enforcement didn't put effort into the search and the woman actually had been kidnapped then her family would sue the pants off them. So even if the searchers were suspicious they still had to treat the case as though it were real. |
