Darn SBC and bandwidth boosters?

 so recently, my internet has been slowing down a bit seeing as when i used to download, i would have 40kBs +/- of bandwidth. now....i can only pump out about 18 +/- kBs. so i thought it was my fault seeing as limewuire has a bandwidth allowance. i thought a spare variable never got updated or something.

well no its either 1 of 2 things after narrowing things down.

a) my router whihc i have full admin access to (a dell >.<)

B) or its SBCYahoo screweing me over this moonth for DLing too much last month...ill KILL them if they think this


any one know of any "bandwidth boosters" or techniques to eek out a few more Kbs out of my dsl connection?

A blast from the past.

 I would not sugest using a Download acluater due to most sites with downloads dont allow them and you can get baned from them.

 well here is the deal. i have been running the SBC modem iwth a dell router for about 2 years now. and im not sure ut im guessing it is sometimes a good idea to update yourcustomers on stuff once in awhile...i dont know im not a business person.

anyways. my bandwidth is normally about 40 kBs...well this was standard about 2 years ago for DSL. SBC just decided to neglect to tell us that ....oh yeah this isnt even offered anymore and the basic DSL package is 384 kBs upload with 1.5 mBs download... WAY TO GO SBC!

so we have been paying the standard bill of whatever per month for something that we could pay the same for....and oh i dont know increase our bandwidth by aboy 2.5x the speed.

so im gonna get a call back to day on the pricing for a new modem/wireless router put out by SBC and how much they are gonna charge for upgrading. and if they do charge me....some ones going down.

so if u have SBC and u only Download stuff at about 40 kBs....call them up and ask what the hell they think they are doing.
