ok me and my continous modding has come to a slight standstill because even the stupidest of things sometimes boggle the hell out of me.

if you are familiar with the inards of a computer then this question is for you. are HD IDE fat-band cables the same as the fat-bands that are used for CD/DVD readers?

they look the same and i believe they have the same pin combination. if they are then it will be amazing. i cant divulge TOO much info atm but maybe in liek 2-4 weeks when everything is done. i WILL have pics i guarantee it

Yes, all IDE cables are the same.

You should use 80pin cables everywhere for best results.

the only reason IDE's are still currently in my computer are because of my CD-RW drive and my normal CD/DVD drive.

both of my Hard Drives (80gb and 120gb) are both SATA drives with 8mb of cache at 150 Gbs/data transfer.

and since i now know IDE fat-bands that connect older HD's are the same as my DVD/CD drive fat bands....SOMEONE is gonna go and buy himself a UV reactant/sheathed rounded IDE cable for my 2 drives.

thus improving air flow in my box oh so slightly. god i am gonna be spening about 130$ in a week or 2 to get my new parts in to mod my comp some more. i will have details to post when i either order or get the shipments in. haha im also bumping up for a 420W power supply to a 500W power supply for about 100.00$ mainly because i can use the extra 80W and it looks REALLY cool (u will understand eventually)...oh god nm the 130.00...make that about 200.00$ >.< oh well for the sake of my computer its oh so worth it

sry to bump this but i gots one more question. cosmetically speaking, Will Cold Cathode LED lights do pretty much the same thing as a Cold Cathode UV light?

im speaking about UV Reactant items inside my case, would they still light up with Blue LED lights? or do i HAVE to get some UV cathodes???
