Wwell for anyone who has been living for the past about 6 years, and were coherent the entire time, AND u were keeping up on videogame progress, you MAY have heard of the phantom. well...after about 4 years of production, the Phantom is set to launch around the time the Xbox 360 launches. this thing has been in production forever it feels like it because we barely ever get ANY news for it. so here is the deal. the phantom has no games to buy. its a gaming service, where u purchase the games online, and they stream to your console and are loaded onto its HD. u buy the game for cheap and u keep it on your box forever. or you can try the game out for like 20 minutes and never need to buy it. its gonna have built in gaming services like Xbox live but for the phantom only, and its currently building its library. just think of it as a computer that connects to your TV. i was SERIOUSLY doubting this console for....well since the day it was announced, but i might be able to throw some faith into after seeing it and watching the interview with the lead of the company. here are the "current" Specs: # CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500+ # Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 Ultra, with 128MB RAM # RAM: 256MB (they say it's equivalent to 512MB for a PC) # Hard Drive: 40GB "content cache" # Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio # Control: Custom game pad and keyboard-mouse combination unit called a "lapboard" the specs have been heard to change soon becuase of the recent developments by the PS3 and the Xbox 360. definatly keep an eye on this just to see what it will actually be able to do. also, since there is no CD's/DVD's or anything like that, and the company has proprietary software and DRM encoding, it should be impossible to crack the games/media. im sorry but im doubting that seeing as the PSP was cracked within 24 hours and had the Firmware browser up and running on the internet with Mirc channels about an hour after it was cracked. just your little news reporting nerd out to help. also on a side note, im using a tab extension for firefox and its great but how do i turn off the rollover on the tabs? i want to click to select not rollover! |

If they wanted me to think it was real, they would have debuted it somewhere else instead of that sham of a network "G4" |

It's a pretty cool concept how you order the games online but they should try to advertise it more in magazines and such, hardly anyone knows about this console. |
