I have a .zip folder containg 329MB of files. I also have the same folder with .rar and it has the same files as the .zip folder but its only 327MB. I want to conver .rar or .zip to .TAR so I can compress the files. How do I convert to .tar? BTW i have winrar installed in my pc |

why tar? just turn up the compression on winrar to maximum and save as a rar file. its one of the best compressions out theere. i thought .tar was a mac compression extension. |

It is a unix compression extension meaning macs, and linux. I personally don't like tar and I think everything else is ok

A tarball offers no compression on its own. Tar just combines multiple files and preserves their permissions. |

Get a DOS high compression utlility. Or just burn your 327MB image to a CD? Or buy a small external USB HD? They're about $80 |

Commader doesn't want or like to spend money. I (think from our AIM/MSN convos) that he doesn't even have the money to spend for annything. |

Then burn it to a CD. That would cost about, what, 5 cents for a cd? |
